Fancy a White Picnic Party? Let’s go to Eyrignac & its gardens

If you are putting France on the top of your list for this summer, don’t settle only for Paris, the south-west has so much more to offer! Large and hilly green spaces as far as the eye can see, the Périgord will seduce you with many outdoor activities! The visits are endless – from regional markets, panoramic gardens à la Française, prehistoric caves and museums, to medieval and renaissance castles – there is definitely something for every taste! And that is not to mention the countless walking, biking or kayaking tours you can enjoy in the region.

Today, I would like to suggest you one of my favourite festive place to enjoy summer in Périgord: Eyrignac & its gardens

Located on the heights of the hills of Eyrignac, only 15 minutes away from Sarlat, this extensive property – including historic monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries, surrounded by sculpted gardens – welcomes nature lovers all year round. 

A festive White Picnic in Périgord

The summer unveils a unique event with the White Picnic Party (also known as Pique-Nique Blanc) every Monday from 7 pm to 11 pm (mid-July to mid-August only). It is the perfect occasion to visit the gardens first and then enjoy a lovely dinner accompanied by your loved ones in the White Garden, surrounded by white roses and a central fountain with frogs pouring water.

You can bring your favourite dishes and even a bottle of French wine from the region (why not!) to enjoy this convivial moment, while the White Garden offers a spectacular sunset view on the hilly countryside. The in-house DJ will perform relaxing songs during the dinner and progressively switch to its best dancing tubes after sunset, transforming the White Garden in an open-air dance-floor! The evening promises to be at its peak when the fireworks sparkle in the night sky, making this evening a great one to remember!
